{"id":2454,"date":"2007-12-31T21:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-12-31T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/2007\/12\/31\/best-of-2008\/"},"modified":"2019-11-22T22:26:48","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T22:26:48","slug":"best-of-2008","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/best-of-2008\/","title":{"rendered":"The Best of 2007!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\">\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">During last year we had many&nbsp;unforgetable moments. 3 of them that really stood out were:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jSx27-12I\/AAAAAAAAACg\/rwaywLeu9TE\/s1600\/P1010514.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" height=\"150\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159105127155423074\" src=\"https:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jSx27-12I\/AAAAAAAAACg\/rwaywLeu9TE\/s200\/P1010514.JPG\" style=\"margin-top: 0px;\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">In April we&nbsp;observed a group of <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/orcakiller-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">orcas<\/a> attacking and killing a <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/fin-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fin whale<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jSKG7-11I\/AAAAAAAAACY\/yOOsL8d4YKw\/s1600-h\/Billede+134.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" height=\"150\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159104444255622994\" src=\"https:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jSKG7-11I\/AAAAAAAAACY\/yOOsL8d4YKw\/s200\/Billede+134.jpg\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a>A very curious <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/whale-shark-fact-sheet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">whale shark<\/a> (the largest fish in the world) of about 8 m approached our boat (about half a meter from us). It was the first time we have encountered the species since we started whale watching here.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bp2.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jTxm7-13I\/AAAAAAAAACo\/SuiAEY0G6Jg\/s1600\/Moby.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" height=\"150\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159106222372083570\" src=\"https:\/\/bp2.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R5jTxm7-13I\/AAAAAAAAACo\/SuiAEY0G6Jg\/s200\/Moby.JPG\" style=\"margin-top: 0px;\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a>In November we saw a white <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sperm whale<\/a>. The Moby Dick legend was reborn in the Azores. The whale was a young calf with a big head and was white all over. It was observed swimming alongside its mother and the other whales of the group.
