Since we left the marina we encountered only <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\">common dolphins<\/a>, and alot of splashes here and there. Then just as we were returning to Ponta delgada we were surprised when we saw an intereseting fin. At first it looked like a shark but it was in fact a <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sunfish-fact-sheet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sunfish (<em>Mola mola<\/em>)<\/a>, the largest bony fish in the world! We stopped the boat to have a look and the fish seemed to be interested in us, enough for us to be able to get some nice photos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R7oIh9R8__I\/AAAAAAAAADg\/oFukevYsD2U\/s1600-h\/P1020963.JPG\" onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" height=\"480\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168452901839634418\" src=\"https:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_oP1dI2XxmSE\/R7oIh9R8__I\/AAAAAAAAADg\/oFukevYsD2U\/s1600\/P1020963.JPG\" style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a>Sunfish (<em>Mola mola<\/em>)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Today it was a little bit wet with some fresh wind and waves during our morning observation.
