The weather was on our side, giving us a fresh calm wind, with some warm moments of sun that came down through the&nbsp;gaps between the clouds. With this kind of magic sighting, the island was filled with different tones of green and and its colours were enhanced by the slight brightness of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_3762c1.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_3762c1.jpg\" width=\"640\" wt=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<em>One example of the beautiful colours that were all over the island&#8230;isn&#8217;t it worth visiting?<\/em> <\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;\">\nEven if we hadn&#8217;t seen any species everyone was already amazed by the beauty of the landscape!<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;\">\nBut in Futurismo we never stop wanting to give you more, and so our&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/vigias-onshore-lookouts.html\">vigia (onshore lookout) <\/a>was in position and making his best effort to help us find some animals.<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;\">\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\">common dolphins<\/a>, as usual, gave us their greetings for the day! They are the perfect&nbsp;friends to see when starting the tour because they always put everyone in good mood!<\/div>\n<div style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_2542c1.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_2542c1.jpg\" width=\"580\" wt=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<em>A curious <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\">common dolphin<\/a> coming to the surface to breath.<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\nThe next guests we encountered were the <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/false-orcafalse-killer-whale.html\">false killer whales (<em>Pseudorca crassidens<\/em>)<\/a>. They are the third largest member of the oceanic&nbsp;dolphin family! As its name implies, the false killer whale shares characteristics &nbsp;with the well known <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/orcakiller-whale.html\">orca or killer whale (<em>Orcinus orca<\/em>)<\/a>, such as their appearance and diet. Like orcas, they are also known for their predator skills and are known to attack and kill other cetaceans. However, orcas and false killer whales are not closely related species.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_4320c2.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"466\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_4320c2.jpg\" width=\"640\" wt=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<em>A small group of the many f<a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/false-orcafalse-killer-whale.html\">alse killer whales<\/a> that we saw<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_3361c1.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_3361c1.jpg\" width=\"640\" wt=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<i>The <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/bottlenose-dolphin.html\">bottlenose dolphins<\/a> also were invited and they came along in the afternoon!!<\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\nWe had fantastic special guests that were with us all day!! The <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/01\/blue-whale.html\">blue whales<\/a> seem never to go away and that is just perfect for us!! And the show they put up for us!!! Flukes and more flukes!! Today we were very lucky to see this rare behaviour from the blue whale!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/P4211315c1.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/P4211315c1.jpg\" width=\"640\" wt=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<strong>And here you have something that are to see&#8230;the tail of a <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/01\/blue-whale.html\">blue whale<\/a>!!!
