Today we had an amazing morning in between the high waves at Southern
\nPico! T<\/span><\/span>he sea was quite beautiful, full of birds soaring close to the water\u2019s
\nsurface, foraging for fish in all of our surroundings. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n
<\/span><\/div>\n
\nWe even had the
\nopportunity to see what nowadays is considered quite a rare species over here,
\none Manx Shearwater.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n
<\/span><\/div>\n
\nHas we arrived at a pod of common dolphins our spotter sighted and
\nled us up to, everyone onboard became amazed by all their energy. Common
\ndolphins are small delphinids that regularly move quite actively and in
\nnumerous pods. The waves and all the
\nfish present on today\u2019s sea were also potentiating the dolphin\u2019s active
\nbehaviour as they were foraging by chasing the fish and surfing the waves,
\ntogether with the shearwaters. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nEveryone onboard listened to their communication
\nwhistles and eco-location clicks with our hydrophone.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nIn between the several Portuguese man o\u2019war and turtles we spotted throughout the trip we had the luck to almost see one of the loggerhead turtles eating one Portuguese man o\u2019war! <\/span><\/div>\n

\nWe approached the reptile slowly but still, it didn\u2019t share this moment with us\u2026 <\/span><\/div>\n
