\nOur day was born mysterious and full of fog but the sea was very good. At the beginning of our trip, we found a very small and shy group of common dolphins<\/a>, already with some babies. During the summer it is quite common to find dolphins with babies, but it seems that the dolphins have already started to have their first calves this year. <\/span><\/span>

\nThe visibility started to weaken but it was still possible for our lookout to find a wonderful group of bottlenose dolphins<\/a>. The group was huge, full of young animals. They’ve been switching between boats showing their jumping skills.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

In a cloudy and rainy day, usually our guests expectations are not very high. But we will manage to see something… hopefully some nice group of dolphins\u2026 But wait. Think a bit. We are in the Azores, everything is possible here! And this afternoon is an evidence! Rainy, foggy, cloudy, and an amazing group of bottlenose dolphins to start our tour. They were jumping so high beside our boats (we guess at least 4 m high!)! <\/span><\/span>Only with the dolphins, the trip became fantastic. <\/span><\/div>\n

\nBut wait again. It is the baleen whales season in the Azores! Let\u2019s go a bit farther from the coast and enjoy the show! And we found some blue whales<\/a> and fin whales<\/a>! So many of them\u2026 and krill<\/a>! This was the first time we saw krill on the surface this season. There is life all over! <\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBut wait once again. Krill is food for whales, and when whales feed, they do the digestion and\u2026 they defecate on the surface! Yes! All the team was so excited today because we managed to collect the first sample of fin whale faeces! And now, our biologist Victor will take care of it. Collecting this is important to know more about the whales diet and their genetics. The color says a lot about it. Something is starting here! We\u2019ll keep you updated<\/span>
