Our clients swam amongst a feeding frenzy of dolphins, birds and tuna. The <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/corys-shearwater-fact-sheet.html\">Cory&#8217;s shearwaters<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/great-shearwater-fact-sheet_3172.html\">great shearwaters<\/a> are proficient divers and are great at diving down deep to feed on fish like <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/08\/dolphin-food-fact-sheet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mackerel and sardines<\/a> which the dolphins corral into tight bait balls. This feeding association is well established between the dolphins and cagarros (as the Cory&#8217;s shearwaters are known here in the Azores), and sometimes we are lucky enough to find ourselves right in the middle of it with a mask and snorkel! The incredible diving capacity of these shearwaters was captured by the BBC during the filming of Blue Planet and can look something like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zzgk__0bezk\">this<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A great dolphin swimming trip this morning!
