We saw a total of 13 different cetacean species this month (6 whale species and 7 dolphin species). <\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/Abril-2012-sighting-graph-1024x671.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img border=\"0\" height=\"417\" mea=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/Abril-2012-sighting-graph-1024x671.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThis is the time of the year that the baleen whale species, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/01\/blue-whale.html\">blue whales<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/fin-whale.html\">fin whales<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sei-whale.html\">sei whales<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/humpback-whale.html\">humpback whales<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/minke-whale.html\">minke whales<\/a>, are passing the Azores on their anual migration to cooler waters further north. Now that summer is nearing we are also starting to see an increase in sightings of our resident <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: blue;\">sperm whales<\/span><\/a> as well as some&nbsp;of our &#8220;summer species&#8221; such as <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/striped-dolphin.html\">striped dolphins<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/pilot-whale-spp.html\">pilot whales<\/a>. This month we were also really lucky to have <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/orcakiller-whale.html\">killer whales<\/a> (orcas) and <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/false-orcafalse-killer-whale.html\">false killer whales<\/a> in the area.
