\nWe started this sunny day with some calm waves and little wind. We had some playful common dolphins<\/a> relatively close to land. It was a group of about 200 individuals! And they had calves too! Beauties! <\/span><\/div>\n

\n
<\/span><\/div>\n
\nAfter spending some time with them, the lookout told us to go out to an area where he has seen some blows. As we arrived, it so happened to be that they went for a deep dive before we managed to see them. When sperm whales<\/a> dive, they can stay underwater for at least 40 minutes! So, we had to be patient. <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
\nIn the meantime, we had a sea full of the type of jellyfish, the Portuguese-man-o-war<\/a>. They are beautiful but dangerous jellyfish that float at the surface. <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n
\nAfter indeed 40 minutes, we had a blow, and another and another and another! We had a group of 6 sperm whales! <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n

\nThey had finally surfaced, and the wait was worth it! The next blow soon appeared, another sperm whale. Then, another group surfaced, 4 more! The sea was full of sperm whales; incredible! <\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nFinally, a last group of sperm whales surfaced and we had seen between 15-20 sperm whales in just one morning! The whales were traveling and showing large parts of their heads as they were pushing through the surface. We don\u2019t see this kind of behaviour every day. <\/span><\/div>\n

\nThen, to end the morning, we had a huge group of bottlenose dolphins<\/a> as well. They were socializing, mating, and leaping out of the water. We also saw one of the dolphins that we can recognize from the dorsal fin, it was False-Egipcio. We have 2 dolphins that we recognize with a dorsal fin that is shaped like a pyramid. This individual is called False-Egipcio because it looks like Egipcio but is not!<\/span><\/div>\n

\nIn the afternoon, there was a bit more wind but still good conditions to be out at sea. We started our sightings with Portuguese man o war leaving the harbour and were seeing them during the whole tour. <\/span>

\nBut after a short while, we found a nice group of common dolphins.<\/span>
\n
<\/span>
\n<\/p>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n

\nThen we came to a sperm whale male which was at one time even facing us before he went for shallow dives. Some boats left the area and after a while this male showed its well marked tail. <\/span><\/p>\n

So we went up in scale because a bit later we met two blue whales<\/a> travelling. <\/span>

\nBefore we had to go one lifted up its majestical fluke to say goodbye before it went for a deeper dive and more common dolphins were joining the two blue whales. <\/span>
