\n<\/a>Today we had some more unusual encounters as well as some common ones. In the morning we started off with a few groups of common dolphins<\/a> near the coastline, just out of Ponta Delgada. After enjoying some time with the dolphins we ventured offshore where we encountered an ocean sunfish (Mola mola)<\/a> at the surface. It was our first sighting of this species this year and from one of our boats we got to see it really well and also film it underwater. Our same clients later had the same luck with a loggerhead turtle<\/a> at the surface, also together with a fish (in this case a triggerfish). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nIn the afternoon we resighted the common dolphins<\/a> and lots of birds, such as common terns<\/a>, great skua<\/a> and Cory’s shearwater<\/a>. On our way back we stopped at several points along the coastline to enjoy the great view.<\/p>\n
