{"id":1237,"date":"2015-07-18T22:30:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-18T22:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/18\/mum-and-baby-sperm-whale-and-dolphins\/"},"modified":"2019-11-22T22:34:08","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T22:34:08","slug":"mum-and-baby-sperm-whale-and-dolphins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whalewatchingazores.com\/blog\/mum-and-baby-sperm-whale-and-dolphins\/","title":{"rendered":"Mum and baby sperm whale and dolphins"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nToday we had a quiet day at the sea, we went out with one of our zodiacs with adventurous tourist hoping to see dolphins and whales.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nWe started the trip with a small group of <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">common dolphins<\/a> and then we decided to head to the East where the lookout saw a big blow from a mysterious animal (according with the lookout, probably a male <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sperm whale<\/a>). After two days without whales, finally a big blow!!<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nOnce in the area we were trying to find the animal when we were surprised by the presence of a baby and its mum <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sperm whale<\/a>. We were with them for a while and then we saw a blow in the distance from another sperm whale that went for a shallow dive very quickly. We never found the &#8220;mysterious animal&#8221; but we are aware that we are dealing with wild animals! we are out there for them, but sometimes they are not there for us.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nIn the afternoon trip we wanted to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/sperm-whale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sperm whales<\/a> again but it was imposible&#8230; Anyway we were rewarded with beautiful family groups of <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/bottlenose-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bottlenose dolphins<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/azoreswhales.blogspot.pt\/2007\/07\/common-dolphin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">common dolphins<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Today we had a quiet day at the sea, we went out with one of our zodiacs with&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[8,3,20,4,244,242,28,254],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v16.2 -
