Spectacular July in Pico

July is already gone and it brought some stunning sightings with a beautiful weather who seems like to stay with us for the month of August. Those two last days, Sperm whales where so active! Socializing at the surface, tail slapping behaviors said “lobtailing” for so many times, and what a surprise when a female of the group started breaching at least 6 times not far from us!

We also observed the rare and shy Pigmy Sperm whale, but before we were able to really understand which specie it was, the two individuals disappeared already under the surface. The big Northern bottlenose whale are also still around, performing some spyhopping while we where approaching the group. Spotted dolphins are here in numbers, curious and showing mating behaviors, working for the next generation. Book you ticket with us and live your own Ocean adventure!
