“Mar com Vida” fair was an event organized by the Municipality of Ribeira Grande that aimed to promote and advertize the potential of local fish products and maritime tourist activity.
Futurismo was represented by its commercial and marketing director, Carlos Picanço, at the event that took place on the 4th and 5th of November, near Praia de Santa Bárbara, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande.
Note that Futurismo has a constant connection to the north coast of the island of São Miguel and to Rabo de Peixe in particular, from where we have tours at the harbor to go whale and dolphin watching. In addition, we have a strong partnership with the Clube Naval de Rabo de Peixe. Futurismo is a founding member of Aqua – Cooperative for the Sustainable Development of the Sea – composed by Clube Naval de Rabo de Peixe and Rabo de Peixe Fisheries Association. The mission is to promote practices aimed at community sustainability.
The opening session was attended by the Mayor of Ribeira Grande, Alexandre Gaudêncio, who revealed that “Mar com Vida” fair is an excellent opportunity to bring together associations, companies and professionals with the most diverse activities and products from the sea to, above all, promote the creation of a network of relationships between entities that can provide an integrated promotion of the potential of sea products from Ribeira Grande”.
The event featured speakers on several scenes, including Carlos Picanço, who had the opportunity to present Futurismo’s project to promote initiatives linked to the sea, explaining how the company values the sea by combining tourism with science and education.
“We were pleased to receive this invitation to participate in Mar com Vida and this is another step taken to comply with our commitment to the theme of sustainable tourism development in the uses of the sea”, said Carlos Picanço.
This was the first edition of Mar com Vida organized by the Municipality of Ribeira Grande.
