Futurismo was created in 1990 by Mr. Rúben Rodrigues, the current CEO of the company. The whale and dolphin watching started on the North shore of São Miguel Island, in 1996. After this we grew bigger with the intention of operating on the south coast of São Miguel Island as well as on Pico Island. Over the years Futurismo developed more experiences and packages.
Alongside the sea activities, in 2006 we introduced inland experiences to show off the nature of the Azores. Since then it’s been possible to cycle around São Miguel Island, book a jeep tour to discover some of the volcanic mountains of the Azores or even walk around some of the untouched nature of this amazing archipelago. 2011 was the year when the company registered both brands Futurismo Whale Watching Azores and Futurismo Azores Adventures in order to separate both land and sea experiences. We are very proud that our journey has led to us being the largest active tourism company in the Azores.
With over 30 years of experience and expertise, we are very proud of our reputation in the active tourism industry.
